To Tan or Not to Tan - Boudoir Edmonton

We are here today with some sizzling advice for all you boudoir shoot enthusiasts. Today, I want to tackle a rather controversial topic - to tan or not to tan before your big day.

Now, we all know that a gorgeous glow can do wonders for our confidence and make us feel like the queens we truly are. But let's be real, ladies, finding the perfect tan can be a serious struggle. Spray tans, for instance, can be a complete hit or miss. I've seen my fair share of mishaps, with shades that were more Oompa Loompa than golden goddess. And don't get me started on the horror of discovering your tan has transferred onto your favorite white silk blouse or that brand new fluffy rug in your living room. Talk about a boudoir faux pas!

On the other hand, basking in the glorious rays of the sun might seem like a tempting option. However, sun tanning can often leave us with uneven tan lines and those pesky burns that are nearly impossible to edit out later. Trust me, I've learned this the hard way when trying to sport a fabulous backless dress after spending hours in the sun. Let's just say the tan lines were not a great accessory!

But fear not, my lovelies, for I have a fabulous solution to ensure you achieve that perfect glow without all the drama. Light indoor tanning can be a great option, but remember, balance is key! Don't overdo it and risk ending up looking like you spent a little too much time in a tanning bed. We don't want to channel our inner Snooki, now do we?

But if you're like me and prefer to skip the tanning altogether, worry not. Embracing Nature's Intimacy: Boudoir Photography in the Alberta Mountains

Living in Alberta for over 15 years, I have come to cherish the breathtaking beauty of our majestic mountains. However, I realized that I rarely took the time to fully immerse myself in their embrace. Whenever I drove through the mountains it was always for another destination, usually to see family in Kelowna or Vancouver. Every time I would question myself, why don’t I ever make time to come here to shoot? This summer I am determined to change that. I will be booking dates to take myself and clients out to the mountains while we have this beautiful weather. In June, I was fortunate enough to secure a day off and have a good friend willing to join me on a spontaneous last-minute trip. This is what we discovered.

1. Rediscovering Our Sensuality:

Boudoir photography has long been celebrated for its ability to empower individuals, allowing them to tap into their sensuality and rediscover their inner beauty. On the other hand, nature has a profound impact on our emotional well-being, helping us reconnect with ourselves and foster a deep sense of intimacy. As we embarked on my mountainous escapade, we had conversations about how captivating the views where. The vastness of the mountains, the tranquility of lush forests, and the serenity of the teal blue lakes and rivers all conspired to create a dream-like setting for capturing intimate moments. Miss A was concerned about not having makeup on, but her Natural look was perfectly complemented by the beauty surrounding us. Revieling to us both how a woman in her most natural state can be a the most beautiful thing.

Mr. D - A Man and ALL his underwear - Male Boudoir - Pink Blush Boudoir Edmonton

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. D back in 2021! And in the matter of two months, he has been to us for two shoots now! 

It is true what they say about boudoir, that a boudoir experience is something that everyone should experience at least once in their life, but it definitely gets more and more fun the more you do it! 

Mr. D has a wardrobe, or shall I say closet full of the all underwear he has been collecting over the years, and what a great way to remember your collection then to get some boudoir photos taken in them.  

It’s hard to say how many pairs he truly has, but I am going to guess in the 500s! Here’s a nice collection of some of the shots that we did for Mr. D last year.  

Can’t wait to have him back for round 3 in 2022!

Dark & Moody Boudoir Photos with Miss M - Pink Blush Boudoir Edmonton

The ever fabulous Miss M is a dear friend of ours and has been to Pink Blush for multiple photo shoots now. We love having women back for new photo shoots, it’s so much fun, as we as photographers get to come up with completely new concepts, and so do the clients. After your first shoot, we find a lot of women come back with more ideas and new outfits and concepts that they are hoping on trying too.

This shoot was no different! Miss M was looking for some dark & moody lighting and was wanting to give our kitchen set a try this time. I just love this shoot, I am all about the dark and moody lighting lately, so this was right up my alley.

Personally I am in LOVE with the kitchen shots that we did, her white bra and panty set was the perfect match for this idea, and I just love how they turned out.

My second favourite is definitely the wet tank top look we did near the end of her shoot, add in our coloured light, and bam, something completely different. I’ve actually done quite a few “wet tank top” looks after Miss M’s shoot, and I think it is becoming one of my favourite things to try.

Vampire Themed Boudoir Photos - Boudoir Photographer Edmonton - Miss M

Flashback to September 2021 with Miss M and her vampire themed boudoir shoot.  I love when women have specific concepts or ideas for us to try. New ideas keep me on my toes and really help me grow as a photographer I think, and sometimes stepping out of the norm is exactly what is needed.  

Sarina did the most fabulous makeup look on her, it gave me all the Elvira vibes. She even wore vampire fangs for the shoot as well, it was lots of fun getting her to show them off for me for her photos.  

Her one specific idea was to have a blood bath though, and had lots of images for inspiration, and I think we were able to pull it off for her.  

I can’t wait for my next blood bath shoot to come around. 

Coloured Lights in Boudoir } Pink Blush Photography Edmonton

Did you know that we now offer coloured lights as an option for your upcoming shoot? Any colour too! We love adding an element of fun into the photos with our new LED light. If you want to try our coloured lights out for your next shoot, just let us know beforehand and we will make sure we incorporate them into your shoot.

You can have the colour be very bold or more soft and subtle, the options are endless. They are a great way of adding a pop of colour to a black outfit.

The ever fabulous booty shots are endless really. Sarina and I are constantly coming up with new ways to photograph your bum! Coming up with new poses and ideas it’s lots of fun. Bruce the Bare } Our Giant Teddy Bear

Our newest addition to the studio! Our ginormous teddy bear is the best prop you can use at your shoot, and he’s not just a prop really, he’s more of a set himself. Want to come in for a shoot with Bruce? Let us know when you book and we will be sure to add him into your upcoming photo shoot.

Pose wise there are so many options of what you can do with Bruce, keeping it cute or a little bit sexy, you can go either way.
